A panel of the HPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard how Brian Faulds was absent from work for a period of almost eight weeks, he failed to inform his line Manager of the absence and failed to produce certification to justify his absence.
The Panel further heard that the Registrant had been previously issued with a written warning for unexplained absence from work. Subsequently Brian Faulds was required to make and attend monthly Occupational Health appointments and attend counselling. He failed to sustain his compliance with any of these elements.
Panel Chair Mr John Williams commented:
This misconduct is still impairing Mr Faulds fitness to practise. The absence of any engagement on the part of Mr Faulds has the consequence that the Panel cannot conclude that his is currently fit to practise.
The panel decided the most appropriate action was to strike Brian Faulds from the HPC register.
Brian Faulds was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
